Contributions

The Human Rights Documentation Exchange is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the indigent and often unnoticed people applying for asylum. We rely on private foundation grants, individual contributions, and fund-raising to continue our service. We also charge our clients using a sliding-scale to supplement contributions.

If you would like to support the Human Rights Documentation Exchange with a financial donation, please download our donation form (Acrobat Reader plug-in required).

The following foundations generously support us:

  • The Ford Foundation
  • The Joyce Mertz-Gilmore Foundation
  • The Norman Foundation
  • The Texas Equal Access to Justice Foundation
  • The Travis County Women Lawyers Association
Each year the Human Rights Documentation Exchange presents the Human Rights Defender Award to an outstanding individual dedicated to the preservation of human rights worldwide. This year's Defender was Lee Terán, Director of the Immigration Clinic at St. Mary's School of Law.
